DIY Cucumber Eye Pads

Hey Lovelies

I hope this month has been great to you. I am happy to say all is well with me! I’m back with the first DIY of 2018!  Anyone else struggle with bags under their eyes? Like! I just can’t deal! Not even makeup covers it for me. 20180220_093239

Anyway, after a bit of research I tried out these DIY Cucumber Eye Pads which seemed to have worked the first time and with continued use should really do the trick! Let’s get to it!

What you’ll need:
Cotton Rounds
Board & Knife
Blender (any type) or Juicer
Sieve (If you use a blender)
Small Plastic Bags/Ziploc Bags
Lavender Essential Oil

Step 1 : Cut your cucumber into small pieces. 1/2-3/4 of a cucumber should be enough.
Step 2 : Throw the cucumber into a jar(blender) with about 1 cup of water.
Step 3 : Blend blend blend!
Step 4 : Pour the mixture through the sieve in order to separate the juice from the pulp. Add 10 drops of Lavender Oil to the separated juice.
Step 5 : Cut your cotton rounds in half if you are making the eye pads for your under eyes only. Skip this step if you want them for your whole eye.
Step 6 : Soak them in the Cucumber juice and then pack them into the plastic bags in pairs. I managed to fit 3 pairs in each bag.
And these are the results. Once they are all packed, place and keep them in the freezer. From this recipe, I managed to get 12 pairs of under-eye eye pads.
Here’s a closeup!

These eye pads are best used when frozen.

How to use them:

Remove 1 pair from your bags. leave it out for about 3 minutes to soften a bit and then place them under your eyes. I kept them on for about 15 minutes. The longer the better but we don’t always have the time in the mornings. The purpose of the Lavender oil is to help you relax whilst the cucumber and the cold work their magic!

This was me on Monday morning listening to a podcast, sipping on a cup of natural peppermint tea. Best way to start the morning!

And here are the before and after pics. There was a noticeable difference and with continued use the bags should disappear completely. I hope you enjoyed this beauty DIY! I can’t wait to share more! Until next time, let’s continue to have fun, discover and share!
