DIY Bath Crème

Hey hey

It’s been long since I actually made something for myself. I had missed taking care of me! Anyway this time I’m here with a DIY Bath Creme which I have been meaning to make for months now. I kept procrastinating but recently I ran out of shower gel and I ended up using my Dad’s Nivea for Men. Wack right? Yeah!

Anyway I’m glad that happened because it brought me back to this long-forgotten plan. This DIY is so easy although it does have a waiting period of 24 hours so make sure you have some time. It’s also perfect for the winter so I hope you try it!

Let’s get straight into it!

What you’ll need:
1-2 bars of DOVE soap
Water
Pot & Stove
Wooden spoon
Grater
Empty bottles

Step 1) Finely grate the bars of soap. (I used an old grater, you don’t want your cheese tasting of soap, lol)

This is what you should end up with.

Step 2) Add water to the pot (As you can see I used an old pot too). My stove was set at 8 (the highest) and then I reduced the heat gradually. The proportions I used were 1 bar of soap : 2 cups of water, so I added 4 cups of water to the pot.

Step 3) When the water is almost boiling, add the soap to the pot.

Step 4) Stir. Stir. Stir. Until the flakes have melted and it’s smooth.

Step 5) Let it boil for about 3-4 minutes.

Step 6) Remove the pot from the stove and allow it to cool/sit for 24 hours. After the 24 hours have passed, the mixture would have set and it will have a creamy consistency.

Step 7) Using a funnel, pour the contents into your empty bottles, and there you have it! Your own Bath Creme!

I made about 3 and a half bottles of  bath crème so I shared it with my family. They have all used it and they love it. It’s smooth and gentle on the skin. It lathers well and it is moisturing since Dove is a moisturising soap. If you would like it to be thicker, use less water. The best part about this DIY is that it only cost me $2,50! Yes! I made Bath Crème for my whole family for less than $3! It doesn’t get better than that!

Let’s have fun discover and share!
